Shellie Y. Pfohl, M.S., was appointed by President Barack Obama in February, 2010 to serve as Executive Director of the President’s Council on Fitness, Sports and Nutrition (PCFSN). PCFSN educates, engages and empowers all Americans to lead a healthy, active lifestyle.
She is responsible for developing PCFSN’s vision and strategies, and directing its daily operations. She also leads the Council’s efforts to support First Lady Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move! initiative to end childhood obesity within a generation.
Prior to joining the Council, Ms. Pfohl served as executive director of Be Active North Carolina, founding director of Be Active America and executive director of the North Carolina Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness and Health.
