Rick Elumbaugh was elected Mayor of Batesville, Arkansas—a community where he grew up—in 2006 and re-elected in 2010 and 2014. Mayor Elumbaugh is currently President Elect of the Arkansas Municipal League and is serving an 8th term on the Executive Committee of Arkansas Municipal League. He’s been an advocate and champion for growing healthy communities and was invited to the White House by First Lady Michelle Obama to be recognized as a leader in promoting Lets Move! Cities, Towns and Counties.
Prior to being elected mayor, Rick was an educator with the Batesville School District for 30 years and managed the Batesville Municipal Pool for 32 summers. Among his many awards includes being named Physical Education Teacher of the Year by the Governor’s Council; Educator of the Year by American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance; and Citizen of the Year by the Kiwanis Club. Rick received a Bachelor of Science from Arkansas State University.
